Alternative Medicine Links & Resources

American College for Advancement
in Medicine (ACAM)
The use of EDTA chelation therapy for cardiovascular disease remains quite controversial
and is generally not subscribed to by most physicians in the United States or by major
medical organizations, such as the AMA and the American Heart Association.
Their position is that this treatment is “unproven” for the above mentioned conditions.
However, a national medical association known as ACAM (American College for Advancement in Medicine)
has sponsored educational seminars and conferences for physicians on the use of EDTA chelation
therapy for the treatment of cardiovascular disorders since 1974. It has established a protocol
for the safe and effective administration of EDTA. Many of its members have been certified
in the use of chelation therapy by the American Board of Chelation Therapy
Autism Research Institute
Taken from the ARI website: "Rates of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis in children are rapidly
increasing to epidemic proportions, and are expected to continue to rise.
Families and communities struggle to understand, and to cope with this
challenge. While causes of ASD remain unclear, recent scientific advances
challenge the traditional view of autism as an untreatable disease—as one
that is “genetically hard-wired.” These developments support the
position that Autism Research Institute (ARI) has always maintained: Autism
Is Treatable. Established in 1967 by psychologist and renowned father of
modern autism research Dr. Bernard Rimland, ARI continues to pioneer in
research, outreach, and cooperative efforts with other organizations
worldwide. ARI advocates for the rights of people with ASD, and operates
without funding from special-interest groups."
