Our Health Practitioners

 

Sally Minniefield, RN, PA-C is a Registered Nurse as well as a Certified Physician Assistant.  In addition to her professional degrees, she has more than 30 years of experience in complementary/preventive medicine.

In 1970 she graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in sociology from pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA.  In 1976 she received her associate degree in nursing from Rockland Community College in Suffern, NY, graduating with high honors.  Sally has been on staff since 1976.

 

 

John J. Reynolds, PA-C, CCN, a graduate of SUNY Stony Brook, is a licensed and Certified Physician Assistant and Certified Clinical Nutritionist (CCN).  He has over 25 years of clinical experience in the field of alternative therapies and is a strong advocate of Integrative Medicine. 

Integrative Medicine embraces the judicious use of both conventional and alternative therapies to maximize healing and optimize quality of life.  He has been associated with the Schachter Center for Complementary Medicine since 1982.

 

 

Robert E. Connolly, DSc, LAc is a licensed New York with National Board Certification (NCCA).  He is a graduate of Tri-State Institute of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture.  He has trained in nutrition, homeopathy, NAET (allergy elimination), ETPS (Electro Therapeutic Point Stimulation--pain elimination), EMI (Electro Meredian Imaging--Ryodoraku), and various acupuncture techniques that do not require the use of needles.  These special techniques allow for the effective treatment of infants and children.  

Dr. Connolly has recently introduced a new, needle-free, advanced acupuncture technique which uses color and light -- Colorpuncture. He has also extended the use of this acupuncture variant to the face which results in a needle-free face-lift while also treating specific areas of the face which correspond to the body's organ systems.

Dr. Connolly also offers HRV Testing: Heart Rate Variability Analysis. Heart rhythm patterns reflect fitness, health, aging and illness. One's overall level of functioning, degree of adaptability, level of resilience and the amount of progress made with therapy can be quantified through the non-invasive methodology of Heart Rate Variability Analysis.

Dr. Connolly has a master's degree in psychology from The City College of The City University of New York. He is also a professional member of  The Acupuncture Society of New York, and The National Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Alliance.  He is a research associate of The Occidental Institute Research Foundation where he has received extensive training in electrodermal testing and German bioenergetic regulation. 

In addition to his formal education, he has worked in clinical settings for nearly twenty years with some of New York's leading, innovative complementary medicine physicians.  He has been associated with the Schachter Center for Complementary Medicine since 1987.

 

 Gail Chen, MS, CNS  Gail is a Board Certified Clinical Nutrition Specialist (CNS) with a Master's Degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport and a certification as a Holistic Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She has worked with numerous people with various issues including weight loss, stress management, diabetes, allergies, cancer, dementia and autism. "I take a holistic approach to nutrition, where I look at all the foods that nourish the body, not just the ones we eat." 

Matthew Gines, MS Matthew obtained his Master's Degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. He has over 12 years experience working with the public on developing and implementing lifestyle protocols that consist of healthy eating, stress management and detox. He has also obtains a PN Level 1 Exercise and Nutrition Certification. Matthew has extensive knowledge on supplements and healthy lifestyle coaching as well as behavior modification. Through motivational and accountability techniques, as well as focusing on prevention of chronic disease, Matthew has helped hundreds of people achieve their health and wellness goals.

 

Sandra Davis, RM, IARP received her Third Degree Reiki Master attunement in 1998, and practices the traditional Usui System as passed down to her by three successive Western Reiki Masters of independent lineage. Most recently, she achieved certification as an Okuden 2nd level practitioner of Jikiden Reiki. Sandra is a member of the International Association of Reiki Professionals (IARP). She also has training in homeopathy, kinesiology, and nutrition.

 

 

 

Christina Stefenelli, IARP is an Okuden 2nd level Reiki Practitioner of Jikiden Reiki, and is a member of the International Association of Reiki Professionals

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anita Berger, BS received her Bachelor of Science degree from St. Thomas Aquinas College. She has worked as a Lifestyle Counselor at the Center under her mentor, Dr. Schachter, for over 20 years, during which time she has educated our patients in what is necessary for the achievement of a healthy lifestyle. 

With thoroughness and cheerfulness, she reviews the dietary and nutritional supplement protocols that have been prescribed for each patient and answers questions that they may have. Anita enables one's visit to the Center to be as productive as possible.
